President Obama - Oct 13, 2012:
"I refused to let Detroit go bankrupt!"

  • Detroit's population has plunged 63% since 1950 and it's down 26% since 2000.
  • The unemployment rate hit a high of 27.8% in July 2009.
  • As of April 2013, the unemployment rate was at 16%.
  • Even though the population fell 63% since 1950, the municipal workforce fell by just 40%, adding to the strain on public finances.
  • At five times higher than the national average, Detroit has the highest violent crime rate of any large U.S. city.
  • 40% of the city's street lights don't work.
  • 78,000 structures and 66,000 lots are abandoned.
  • Arson accounts for 1,000 of 12,0000 fires per year and 60% of those arson fires are in dilapidated or empty buildings.
  • Detroit has had Democrat party Mayors since 1962.

Good job Mr. President!

This Just In...

Stevie Wonder will boycott the State of Florida.  This beckons two questions from me:

  1. Why shouldn't everyone boycott Florida for wasting the country's time and their own State's money on a trial for charges that had no business being levied in the first place?  If their justification is because a person of color was shot and/or killed by another person of color, then the State of Illinois would go broke from just the cases generated in Chicago over the 4th of July weekend where 72 were shot, 12 of which were killed.
  2. How will Stevie Wonder know if he's in Florida or not?

Zimmerman Primer - October 3, 1995

Do you wonder if people would have reacted the same way had Twitter existed in 1995 when OJ Simpson was found innocent?

Hi Ho Silver, Away (with $150 Million)!!!

Leave it to Disney to screw up an iconic American legend like the Lone Ranger and lose $150 million in the process.  I can hear the writers now...  "Let's make the Lone Ranger an attorney who doesn't believe in guns."

Go Hollywood!

On the Yacht for the Coup D'état

Remember when the Obama administration was caught telling lies to the media and to the American people about the State Department's activities during the terrorist attack on our embassy in Benghazi?  Where was the President?  Where was the Secretary of State?  To this date, nobody knows because Obama and Clinton refuse to answer questions on the issue.   Just when accountability reared its ugly head, Hillary Clinton was suddenly hospitalized and therefore unavailable to testify before Congress as to her and her boss' lack of action that led to the deaths of American foreign service officers.

Fast forward to Cairo Egypt and the absolute chaos going on there as the Morsy Islamofacist regime was tossed out of power by the Egyptian military.  This is the regime to whom Kerry's boss recently gave 250,000,000 in American taxpayer dollars, 200 Abrams tanks, and 12 F-16 fighter jets (with the promise of another eight by the end of this year).  One might think that such an investment in a foreign power might cause one to actually be engaged as that power crumbles live on television before the entire world.  But I digress.

Coincidentally, Secretary of State John Kerry was nowhere to be found as the Morsy regime was toppled.  Except that he was.  He was found alright; sailing his yacht.  When asked about Kerry's whereabouts and then pushed to address the speculation that Kerry was derelict of duty, the State Department did as they are now so well known to do.  They lied and denied until they were forced to admit the truth.  It should be noted that the Obama administration has yet to acknowledge what the rest of the world already knows.  Morsey's ousting was a military overthrow, which has (at least for the time being) displaced the Obama supported Muslim Brotherhood.  This is important to call out, because under US law our government cannot support a coup or decree that has overthrown an elected government.  The Obama approach is simple.  If they don't acknowledge it, it must not exist.  This same logic can be applied to Obama's approach to dealing with the economic devastation our country will suffer under Obamacare.  Again I digress.

I can't help but notice the coincidence here, but shortly after photographic proof surfaced proving that Kerry was indeed on his yacht during the coup, low and behold, his wife Teresa Heinz Kerry was hospitalized.  I suppose admitting John Kerry himself to the hospital like Hillary was would have been more far fetched than Kerry admitting he's in over his head and way out of his league.  I wish no ill will whatsoever on Mrs Kerry.  I just can't help giggle at the coincidence.

...And So Go Our Rights

If you believe our rights aren't being siphoned before our eyes, take a look at this.  Watch to the end.  The officers' response is worth the wait. This is the shit Americans voted for.

I wouldn't want these guys' jobs for any amount of money.  It takes major balls to face an anonymous person in the dark, on the other side of a closed vehicle window.  Still, I find myself torn between my admiration for most law enforcement officers who dutifully carry out their orders to the best of their ability and the unconstitutionality of some of those orders.

Happy Independence Day!

Remember to celebrate Independence Day; not the 4th of July.  Remember also to savor what independence we have left because it's fading fast and few seem to notice.  This is likely because their outstretched, palm-up hand is blocking their view.

Holding Florida Hostage

I wrote about the Trayvon Martin death case back in April of last year.  It's taken sixteen months for the case to come to trial and if you were looking for a circus, this case has probably disappointed you.  I wrote back then that I had no opinion on Zimmerman's guilt or innocence.  Well, I have an opinion now and what it is - is irrelevant.  The bottom line, irrespective of my opinion, is I believe Zimmerman will be found not guilty.

This verdict can by no means be attributed to a brilliant defense team.  Indeed, the prosecution has done more to project Zimmerman's innocence than his defense team ever could have themselves and I don't believe the prosecution is inept.  I believe they never had a case and they knew it.  I also believe the judge knew this, which would explain why she denied the defense's request to take the jury to the killing site.  If I were the judge in this case and I was confident the prosecution had no case - and - I shared the fears the judge does, I would deny the defense any opportunity to prove their case.  In other words, If I knew the prosecution had a long rope, I'd let them noose it up and hang themselves.

Where the hell am I going with this?  Stay with me.

It's clear to anyone with a pulse that this case was tried in the media long before any facts were bought forth.  Zimmerman was "guilty" and Martin's killing was labeled  a hate crime.  Zimmerman was even described as a light-skinned Latino by many in the lame stream media in an effort to inject race into a case that was already racially supercharged.  The media only showed photos of a preteen Martin and never presented the images from his Facebook page exposing his gangster gold grill and flashing gang style gestures.  Of course, those images were taken down as soon as the case became publicized.  Nevertheless, images and gestures do not make the man a criminal.

Martin, on the other hand, was portrayed as an armed and bigoted vigilante out looking for trouble.  After all, he was armed!  The fact that he was licensed to carry and had no prior history of violence was apparently irrelevant.  Still, Zimmerman didn't do himself any favors when he ignored the 911 operator's orders to discontinue tailing Martin.  The bottom line is that charges would have never been pressed and this case would have never come to trial were it not for the media's influence.  But I digress.

Where I was going with this was that the judge, the defense, and even the prosecution themselves knew full well that there was no provable case against Zimmerman.  The best that they could hope for was to give the prosecution and deny the defense every possible legal edge in hopes that the media and public will perceive the trial as fair in light of the jury's charge to determine a verdict "beyond the shadow of a doubt".

Nice try.  Regardless of the verdict, Zimmerman can't win here.  Sadly enough, the loser is not Martin's family.  The real losers are the people who live in the Sanford, Florida area and others where racial violence will undoubtedly ensue.  Imagine the cost of law enforcement overtime, medical bills, and insurance claims that the forthcoming riots will cause the people of Florida to incur.  Call me a racist, but I doubt this violence will be perpetrated by "creepy-ass crackers."  If that term doesn't ring a bell, you haven't been paying attention.
