Perspective

Last night, thirteen people were killed and ten more injured when an overstuffed pickup truck crashed near Goliad, Texas.

Since Memorial Day, ninety children under the age of fifteen have drowned in backyard swimming pools.

No one seeks to ban backyard swimming pools or restrict the sale of pickup trucks despite the statistical likelihood that they will be misused after their purchase and innocent people might lose their lives as a result.

We need to pray and/or hope for the best for the families of the Colorado theater shooting victims.  We need to try to make sense of the tragedy.  Most of all, we need to maintain perspective and recognize who caused these senseless deaths, not what.
